Indian actor Swara Bhasker has voiced her appreciation for Pakistan’s kindness towards India as it battles the world’s worst healthcare crises during the COVID pandemic.
Days after India descended into chaos as COVID cases surged in the country, hashtags like #PakistanStandsWithIndia started trending in Pakistan, with Faisal Edhi even reaching out to Indian PM Narendra Modi to offer help.
Seeing this, Bhasker took to Twitter herself on April 25, thanking Pakistanis for their kindness. “Heartening to see Pakistani civil society and social media reach out in solidarity and kindness to India during this devastating time,” she said.

“This despite the fact that our media and mainstream public discourse have consistently mocked and vilified Pakistanis,” she added, nodding to perpetually strained relations between the neighboring countries.
She also thanked Pakistanis for their bada dil (big heart).
The COVID crisis in India has spiraled out of control in the last week, with the country recording daily highs of more than 300,000 positive cases.
